A person who fights for civil, human, personal rights and social justice using violent and/or nonviolent tactics
About the museum
This museum focuses on Southern historical figures that have been erased from conventional history texts and museums. This site is created to acknowledge and honor people who have fought and continue to fight for freedom from racism, poverty and gender oppression in the U.S. South. Their struggles and bravery have laid an important foundation of U.S. history and resistance.
